There’s been a debate for a while now regarding the state of New York Hip Hop and New York MC’s in the game.
Many think that the birthplace of Hip Hop has fallen off due to the lack of new MC’s from the city making a name for themselves in Hip Hop.
Apparently, Trinidad James also agrees with this, according to the recent statements he made about Southern rappers running NYC.
Hearing someone like Trinidad James diss New York Hip Hop is bad enough, but when the majority of New York MC’s don’t even respond to it… that’s when you know you have a problem!
Now New York City knows that it’s MC’s have fallen off.
Many people have already spoken out on the matter; from radio DJ’s to actual New York rappers.
But when you’re name is Trinidad James, and the you only have 1 hit song under your belt, and you’re known for giving wack ass freestyles like the one he gave Tim Westwood, then you should not be allowed to voice your opinion on the matter.
EVER! PERIOD!!! ARGUMENT FOREVER INVALID!
The “Jerome look-alike” MC not only said that Southern rappers ran New York, but challenged any rapper who disagreed, to come at him.
“What the f*ck happened? I remember when New York rap was the sh*t…But now we run y’all, that’s crazy… I’m not trying to start nothing, but if you wanna do something we can do something cause I don’t give a f*ck. I’m just being honest with you…”
Maino’s one of the few rappers who did speak out against Trinidad’s remarks, even going so far as to venting about the rapper to Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club radio morning show; the two even exchanged tweets online about the issue. Hell Rells is another rapper who stood up for the city by dropping a diss track called Lames In The Game, but that’s about it.
Is New York really going to let this yuck mouth MC get away with talking so much shit about the city?
Only time will tell.
