Quick Updates: Future and Cici engaged, Cee-Lo cleared of rape, Jackson’s doctor released, and MORE!!

Here’s another round of Quick Updates!

I knew it was only a matter of time before this couple announced their engagement. It was either going to be this or a breakup announcement; glad they went with the former. The Associated Press reported that the rapper surprised the pop singer over the weekend during her birthday celebration in New York with a 15-carat ring. Congrats to the newly engaged couple! I’m guessing they’ll make beautiful music together!

MICHAEL JACKSON’S DOCTOR, DR. CONRAD MURRAY, RELEASED FROM JAIL! After serving two years in jail, Conrad Murray (the late King of Pop’s personal Physician) is a free man. The doctor was released early on Monday morning from jail, after being convicted in 2011 for manslaughter.

“According to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. … Murray was released at 12:01 AM Monday — however, he did not make a triumphant walk out of jail … choosing, instead, to sneak out away from photogs who had gathered. “

Word is the doctor is also working on a book about the whole thing (Yeah,  I know) and that he may be open to a reality show.

I touched on this issue a while back on another Quick Updates post. Cee-Lo was waiting for the outcome of a rape case from last year while prosecutors tried to put together more evidence against the X Factor judge. Fortunately for the singer, prosecutors were unable to obtain enough evidence against him for sexual assault.

Now it’s been revealed that rape charge has been dropped, but the drug charge still remains; the singer has pleaded not guilty.

“Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, appeared in court Monday to be arraigned on the sole charge of furnishing a controlled substance. The charge carries a potential sentence of up to four years in prison.”

Rapper 50 Cent will have to deal with three years of probation after pleading no contest to a vandalism charge from earlier this year.

The G-Unit rapper (real name Curtis Jackson) got into a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend a while back and she claimed Jackson damaged the condo and other items during the fight.

Curtis will have to pay over $7,000 in restitution fees as well as honor a restraining order that was put in place and take domestic violence classes for about a year.
