Just in case you missed all the great performances (or you’re like me and just refuse to sit through 3 hours of bullshit), check ou tsome of the highlights and performances from the 2014 BET Awards below!
What better way to open the 2014 BET Awards then with one of the biggest artists and producers of the year all rolled into one? Pharrell Williams started the event off with his performance of Come get It Bae with surprise guest, Missy Elliott (I miss her).
Lil Wayne was fittin’ to start a mosh pit when he performed two tracks from his upcoming album Tha Carter 5– Krazy and Believe Me.
Like always, there were collab stages during the event, starting with Breezy’s performance. Chris Brown (who had on a shirt very similar to Wayne, but that ain’t none of my business) shared the stage with Lil Wayne, Tyga and the dope ass drummer from rock band Blink 182, Travis Barker to perform Loyal (complete with dance break at the end).
John Legend made the second best decision of his life (besides marrying super model Crissie teigel) and teamed up with one of my fave’s, the Queen, Jhene Aiko. #LifeWasGivenToMeDuringThisPerformance #Slayed
Usher performed a medley of his hits, everything from Confessions and Caught Up to his recent track Good Kisser (also complete with multiple dance breaks).
Nicki Minaj performed her latest track “Pills N Potions” at the awards, but not before entering the stage on the back of a motorcycle, damn near flashing fans in her leather mini skirt and fishnets.
Jennifer Hudson brought sexy back during her performance, walking all the way from the back of the venue to the top of the stage in a tight black mini dress, and knee high boots. Did I mention she sang her ass off!
August Alsina brought Chris Brown back out on stage along with Trey Songz to help him for the second part of his performance. (He also brought back the red plaid that everyone was wearing that night, but that’s none of my business.) Trey Songz piggy backed off that collab stage to perform his song Oh Na Na.
John Legend, Ledis, Yolanda Adams give an incredible tribute performance in honor of Lionel Richie receiving the BET Lifetime Achievement Award.
T.I. performed his recent track No Mediocre featuring his protege, Iggy Azalea before the Aussie MC performed her hit song Fancy.
And finally Robin Thicke, who’s still not ashamed to promote his thirst to get Paula Patton back. #TheThirstIsReal
