List of Winners and Performances from The American Music Awards!

Y’all are going to be so proud of me!

I actually watched the majority of this awards show! Just kidding, I’m lying! I was switching back and forth between the American Music Awards and about two other shows the entire night. But I made a brief recap of the night’s events!

This year’s 41st American Music Awards was held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

I had totally forgotten about rapper Pitbull hosting the show until he showed up in a suit and tie on stage after the opening performance.

Fortunately, Mr. 305 did not suck at hosting, so I was bale to make it through his cuts.

I however, was not able to make it through his performance with Ke$ha and that god awful song Timber.

Speaking of performances, the AMA’s had a nice variety this year.

Did I sit through all of them, of course not (there were over 15); but the ones I considered relevant I sat through, and they were pretty good.

As far as winners go, I already mentioned in my last American Music Awards post how I was NOT surprised by the list of nominations, so you know the list of winners were even less shocking.

So here’s a quick recap of what happened and what people will be talking about today:

-Lady Gaga came in on a white horse… not real though.

-Katy Perry will have a “Was her performance racist” situation to deal with this week.

-Justin Timberlake is apparently the best Pop/Rock/Soul and R&B artist… EVER!

-Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis beat out Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar. I Know!

-Rihanna’s mom presented her with the Icon Award, and was adorable.

– Lady Gaga and R.Kelly. I’ll let you watch that performance and judge for yourselves.

– Jennifer Lopez went full Latina for her tribute performance for Celia Cruz and killed it!

– Miley Cyrus with a cute kitten
