It’s another day in America and another innocent Black man has tragically died at the hands of police officers.
Alton Sterling, a 37 year old father and husband, was outside of a Triple S Food Mart store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana selling CD’s and DVD’s when two cops pulled up on him due to a 911 call stating the Sterling had a gun. The cops immediately wrestled Sterling to the ground in front of the convenience store, held him down, and the shot him multiple times in the chest.
Luckily, bystanders were there to record the fatal shooting on their cell phones.
Of course, there was an immediate outcry and fury over this murder, leading many people, including celebrities, to voice their frustrations and their condolences on social media.
How many more times must this happen for us to matter? How many more must we lose?
BLACK. LIVES. MATTER. #AltonSterling

Have written & erased at least 20 awesome furious tweets. But I am too sad. Instead, I'll just say this: #stopshootingus

1) In the interest of time, would ye noble patriots please provide a list of infractions punishable by spontaneous public execution? Thanks!

The violence that killed Alton Sterling and Philando Castile has become an all too common occurrence for people of color and IT. MUST. STOP.

Said it once and I'll say it a million times. As a black American I fear the police way more than Isis.

It saddens me that 5 kids are growing up without their father. 2 white Police Officers killed Alton Sterling while he was standing outside a store selling CD's. These officers got a call that a man was outside the store with a gun but for some reason the officers were wearing Body Cam's that weren't connected & recording. Wrestled him down to the ground with no warrant to do so & shot him in the chest & back!! When is America & the judicial system that's suppose to protect us, gonna make these officers who are killing black men take responsibility for what's going on. This is literally getting away with MURDER & it continues to happen #RipAltonSterling
