In this year’s edition of “bitter-sweet Hip Hop news,” legendary crew A Tribe Called Quest will release their new and final album on November 11th!
This will be ATCQ’s first studio album in over 15 years, the last being their 1998 project, The Love Movement.
Q-Tip made the announcement on social media with a picture of a hand written letter explaining the group’s desire to get back into the studio after their performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

According to reports, ATCQ’s final album will be titled We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service, as a nod to member Phife Dawg, who passed away earlier this year while the rap group was working on their sixth album. Phife loved the name so much that that Q-Tip decided that was a good enough reason to stick with the title, “We’re just going with it because he liked it.”
The final album will include all four members, and features from old friends like Busta Rhymes, Andre 3000, and Talib Kweli, as well as new artists like Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak and Jack White.

ATCQ will be busy the weekend their final album drops because they’re scheduled to be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live (with host Dave Chappelle) and perform at a pop up shop/show in New York where they will also be selling A Tribe Called Quest merchandise!
Can they kick it? (Yes they can!)
